The traditional Barolo estate of Francesco Rinaldi & Sons is considered one of the biggest names in Piedmont. The estate was founded in 1870, when Francesco Rinaldi inherited a vineyard and a house in Barolo, which prompted him to leave his job at the large Mirafiore estate and set out on his own. 150 years later, the winery is managed by the sisters Piera and Paola Rinaldi. Many of the family’s ancient methods, including avoiding the use of new wood, extra-long maceration, and long aging in Slavonian oak before bottling, are still used in the Rinaldi family cellar to produce some of the best wines in Barolo.
